Concerts
Music education is an integral part of the curriculum at EEB2. That is why, every year, a concert is organised for nursery and primary school pupils.
On Thursday 5 February, the nursery, P1 and P2 classes from Evere attended a concert by the group ‘Entre deux silences’. Thanks to their innovative arrangements combining vocals, world instruments (darbouka, bendir, n'goni), poetry, storytelling and shadow theatre, the trio transported their young audience on a journey of discovery to other cultures and traditions.
This week, two concerts were held in Woluwe:
On Tuesday, P3, P4 and P5 pupils attended a contemporary performance of the musical tale Peter and the Wolf. While the instruments were presented faithfully according to Prokofiev's specifications, the professional musicians also put on an impressive visual show. The pupils had the opportunity to ask questions after the performance, which certainly did not leave them indifferent.
On Wednesday, the duo Rosita and Herman Dewit enchanted the ears and eyes of our youngest pupils with their instruments made from everyday objects, such as a kind of bagpipe made from a rubber glove, tent pipes and an inflator. The children were able to try out these unusual instruments. Rosita and Herman captivated our pupils and created a great atmosphere conducive to new encounters.
Thank you to the artists for their performances, to the pupils for their enthusiasm, to the music department for organising these concerts and to the technical team for their unfailing support!
