Grease, the EEB2 musical
It was with boundless energy that the students at our school celebrated the school's 50th anniversary with an exceptional theatrical performance of Grease. This timeless classic, revisited with a modern twist, was unanimously acclaimed by the entire audience, demonstrating once again that drama is a powerful vehicle for personal expression and creativity among the younger generations.
Amazing actors!
The magic of this show lies in the meticulous staging by Ms Silvana Cigognini, as well as in the performances of the secondary school actors, the young dancers from P5 and the two choirs! Although these students only started the new Drama Club at our school in September, their performance was worthy of professionals. The young actors captivated the entire Salle Polyvalente with their infectious enthusiasm, as well as the classes watching via live stream, creating an immediate connection with the audience.
Music, dance and live guitar: a fireworks display of talent!
It is impossible to talk about Grease without mentioning its legendary songs. The famous Summer Nights, You're The One That I Want, and Greased Lightning had the walls shaking, transporting the audience back in time with a perfect blend of nostalgia and contemporary energy. But that is not all! One of the most impressive moments of the musical was the live guitar performance. Yes, you read that right: the musical accompaniment was provided live by the actor playing Danny. It was impossible to stay still with all those lively songs making the audience's hearts beat to a frenetic rhythm. And the dancing by the primary school children and the secondary school and staff choirs were the icing on the cake!
A tribute to the school's 50-year history
This show was not only an artistic performance, it was also a tribute to the history of our school. Over the decades, our school has nurtured and encouraged the creativity of its students, and this project perfectly embodied that tradition. The teachers who accompanied the students throughout this journey instilled their passion and expertise, while highlighting the many talents that exist within our school community.
This is an event that will certainly be remembered, not only for the quality of the performance, but also for the collective energy that emerged from this shared experience. Seeing the students perform on stage, we could see a real chemistry between teamwork, learning and the joy of performing together. Congratulations to all the participants: the actors, the choirs, and the teachers who worked hard to make this show a memorable event. The school has once again proven that it is a real springboard for the dreams of tomorrow!
We are already looking forward to the next projects of the Drama Club!
